Cats lick everything, so anything you apply must be safe to eat. Plain virgin coconut oil is — in tiny amounts — and helps dry, flaky skin at the base of the tail and on elbows. No additions.
Method

Warm a pea of coconut oil between fingers.
How to use
- Massage into the dry patch, once a day for a week. More will just be licked off and may upset the stomach.
Safety
- Never essential oils, tea tree, vinegar sprays or zinc creams on cats — all are toxic.
- Persistent dandruff, bald patches or scabs: vet.
