Wool dryer balls & linen scent spray
Replace dryer sheets and fabric softener in one go.
Easy 1 hr (balls) + 2 min (spray) 4 balls, 250 ml spray Keeps Balls: years. Spray: 3 monthsCost $
Felted wool balls soften by beating the fabric and cut drying time by separating clothes. Fabric softener coats fibres with waxy conditioners that reduce towel absorbency; dryer balls don't. A linen spray gives the scent people miss.
Method
- 1
Wind yarn tightly into tennis-ball-sized balls, tuck the end under. Stuff into a stocking, knot between each ball.
- 2
Wash on hot with a load of towels, dry on high. Repeat twice; they will felt solid.
- 3
Spray: mix witch hazel with oil, add water, shake.
How to use
- 3–4 balls per dryer load. Mist linen spray onto balls or straight onto sheets before making the bed.
